Hey there! I'm Karen. Wife, mother, animal lover, Personal Chef, and Professional Event Planner. Growing up in Virginia, my passion for cooking, decorating, planning parties and gathering began very early. I worked alongside my grandmother and mother learning many skills along with a strong work ethic and love for celebrations. Seeing the joy this brought to others brought much joy to me! So, it started with my family and continues with my family until this day.
I graduated from The University of Virginia, got married, and moved to Florida to begin our new life in the late 80's. I enjoyed my work as a paralegal and financial administrator; however, I was always "itching" to do event planning. Unfortunately, throughout the years I have suffered with some serious and chronic health issues, but that didn't stop me from putting everything on the back burner to raise my daughter and son, which I have never once regretted. Those were treasured times and filled with many memories and celebrations.
Along the way, I planned and organized many major school and church events - plus numerous private parties for friends and family. I had begun to work some events professionally, (specifically quinceañeras with over 300 attendees), and other catering jobs on the side. I LOVED it. I wanted more! Friends kept telling me I should do catering and/or event planning.
Finally in December 2018, the timing was right and I finally had the courage to start PlanIT Events LLC with my daughter. I was SO happy to finally fulfill my passion and purpose in life! I've continued to train and learn, earning my title as a Certified Personal Chef and also as a Certified Event Planner. I realized my skill-set of organizing and attention to detail, along with my desire for perfection, are the necessary tools to be successful.
We have been blessed to do every kind of event imaginable and each one has been special to me. I love getting to know our clients and honored to be part of their celebrations. We make sure each one is unique - as we always add personal touches.
I am eternally grateful for my family who supports our business and pitches in when we need them. They share our love for this business too. My son is attended The Rosen College of Hospitality and received his degree in Event Management. He is passionate about the industry as well. It's truly the "icing on the cake" when we can all work together.
Our goal is to help you acheive the vision you have for your event - no matter how big or small. It is so satisfying to see it all come perfectly together.

Hi, I'm Evan! Professional Event Planner, wife, and dog mom. My favorite thing in life is helping you and yours celebrate special moments. After all, isn't that what life is all about? Planning, designing, and executing your event brings me pleasure; blowing your mind and exceeding your expectations brings me joy.
When I was growing up, holidays, birthdays, and ALL special events were considered monumental occasions in our household. Our baptismal birthdays, St. Patrick's Day, and even visits from the Tooth Fairy were celebrated to the max. Along with the special events always came special FOOD to go along with it - so many amazing meals shared with family and friends. All these experiences made an impact on me forever - and it's why I ended up as a Professional Event Planner, decorator, and caterer/personal chef.
After graduating with a Business Administration Degree from The University of South Florida, (GO BULLS), I worked at a church office as an Administrative Assistant, tried out teaching for a few months, and even started selling clothes on the side part-time. I worked hard and tried to be happy but to be honest, none of it was fulfilling...until PlanIT Events.
Starting our own business has been life-changing, to say the least. Realizing this is ACTUALLY happening makes me push forward and work harder every day. This is not only a dream; it's an obsession. Discussing potential party/event ideas, seeing your inspo pics, delivering GOOD food for your special celebrations, being PART of your big life moments...well, I really can't express how that makes me feel or how grateful I am. It's incredible.
